Mountain bachelorette party location ideas
When we think of a picture-perfect location for a flannel and fizz bachelorette party, we picture a group of close girlfriends jetting away to a snow-capped mountain chalet for a cosy weekend away. Maybe you’re lucky and live in a location like this, so you don’t have to go far from home.
Or maybe your bridal party is spread out across the country and a destination bachelorette party was on your radar anyway.
Whatever the case, hosting your flannel and fizz weekend getaway at a mountain resort or cosy lakeside retreat is the PERFECT destination for this kind of bachelorette weekend!
Our top 10 winter getaway locations that we think would be perfect for a flannel and fizz bachelorette weekend in North America are:
Finding the perfect vacation rental for your bachelorette weekend
There are lots of great options to consider when booking accommodations for your bachelorette getaway:
-
- Look into renting a chalet, house, condo or hotel on Trip Advisor – you can truly find some breathtaking mansions in the mountains to rent, and best of all, the costs are split, so if there’s a large group, it won’t be that expensive for you. I use Trip Advisor to research, plan and book everything! It’s never failed me. People post honest reviews and their OWN photos so you know what you’re getting. I even use it to look up restaurants and things to do, too.
- Ask the bridal party if they have any family or friends who own a chalet, cabin or vacation timeshare that they would be willing to let you rent or use for free for the weekend.
- Look up the local tourism board for the location you are considering. They often post special “deals” for accommodation packages on their website.
- If you’re planning to ski, seriously consider staying at a resort on a ski hill. You can ski in and ski out at your leisure, there’s often a “village” with shops, bars/pubs and restaurants on the hill so you don’t have to leave. And some resorts even have spas and other amenities right on the hill, making this a true girls getaway dream come true.
- Research bed and breakfasts in the area that might be able to accommodate your group.
Flannel and fizz bachelorette party activities and games
Most people overlook a winter bachelorette weekend getaway because they think there are more activities to do in other destinations like Miami or Las Vegas. But there are endless bachelorette activities for a flannel and fizz bachelorette party! Here are some of our favourite ideas:
-
- Skiing or snowboarding
- Tubing (some ski resorts offer a hill just for tubing down)
- Spa day (some resort towns have cool nordic spas, which combine spa services with outdoor hot tubs and saunas. Heaven!)
- Ice skating on a frozen pond or skating rink
- Sleigh ride
- Hiking
- Snowshoeing
- Cross country skiing
- Distillery tours or winery tours (some resort towns are well-known for their local distilleries and wineries)
- Private cooking classes! If you’re renting out a chalet and have a large kitchen, consider hiring a private chef to come give lessons to the group.
- Pub crawl
- Canoeing/kayaking
- Board game tournament (if you’re renting a large chalet for the weekend, this can be super fun!)
- Yoga retreats/workshops
- Mountain biking
- Trail riding or horseback riding on the mountain
- And don’t forget that we have flannel and fizz bachelorette bundles that comes complete with coordinating flannel and fizz games for you to play during your weekend getaway!

Food and drinks
Again, depending on what kind of accommodations you end up booking, you may either be cooking in or out.
If you book a chalet, house or private vacation rental with a large kitchen, here are some of our favourite food ideas for a flannel and fizz weekend bachelorette getaway:
-
- Chilli bar
- S’more bar
- Lasagna cook-off
- Barbecue (hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs or slow-cooked chicken)
- Comfort food “potluck” (everyone bakes or brings their favourite “comfort dish”)
- Charcuterie board smorgasbord (think cheese and bread, meat, nuts, fruit and cheese, desserts, etc.)
You might also want to consider hiring a private chef for the weekend. If you have a large group of women staying together, this can actually sometimes be a more economical and time-saving option for everyone.
Drinks
Of course, there will be drinks! Besides the obvious stop you’re going to make at the liquor store the second you get to your destination, we think it would be cool to set up a “liquid flannel” style bar one night when you’re either staying in or thinking about pre-gaming before you head out on the town for the night. We like the idea of setting up a “liquid flannel spiked drink” bar with the following build-it-yourself drinks:
-
- coffee/hot chocolate station with marshmallows, toppings and liquors like Baileys, Kahlua, peppermint schnapps, Fireball, etc. You get the idea.
- A make-your-own mimosa bar (hence the “fizz” in “flannel and fizz). Have champagne/prosecco on hand with various fresh fruit and fruit juices for guests to build their own mimosa.
- A signature “liquid flannel” cocktail:
-
-
- Apple cider (6 oz.)
- Butterscotch schnapps (1 oz.)
- Vanilla vodka (1 oz)
-
